Day 1 & 2 : Travel Days

  • Flight to Tokyo, Japan
  • Japan Web Disembarkation and Declaration Process

  • 7-11 Experience (Food, ATM, Sports Tickets)

Day 3: Independent Day Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi

  • Japan Study Trip Journal N+2: Mount Fuji Adventure
  • Luggage Storage
  • Mt Fuji Arakurayama Sengen Park
  • Lake Kawaguchi Oishi Park
  • Traditional Japanese Village Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba 
  • Shinkansen to Nagoya

Day 4: KBJ Anderson Japan Study Trip Begins!

  • Japan Study Trip Journal N+3 : Ohayō Nagoya!
  • Explore Nagoya Castle
  • Famous Nagoya food Misokatsu (pork cutlet with miso sauce)
  • Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology
  • Dinner at Kura Sushi

Day 5: Nagoya Area

  • Japan Study Trip Journal N+4: Hit the Books!
  • Study Trip Orientation
  • Isao Yoshino, lecture + discussion
  • Visit Toyota supplier or another company and  discussion
  • Welcome dinner!


Day 6: Nagoya Area & Toyota City

  • Japan Study Trip Journal N+5: Looms to Automobiles
  • Visit local elementary school
  • Toyota museum
  • Optional group Shabu-Shabu  dinner 

Day 7: Nagano & Gunma Prefecture

  • Japan Study Trip Journal N+6: Japanese Alps
  • Travel via private bus to Nagano Prefecture
  • Visit Ina Foods Industries + discussion
    Lunch at Ina Foods’ garden restaurant
  • Sake brewery tour
  • Stay overnight at a ryokan (traditional Japanese hotel)  with group dinner and celebration
  • Local sightseeing and cultural experiences such as onsen, wearing yukata, and karaoke

Day 8: Takasaki, Ashikaga & Tokyo

  • Japan Study TripJournal N+7: Rural Japan and Finding Purpose
  • Cultural experience – visit the Daruma Temple in Takasaki
  • Site visits in Ashikaga and lunch with executives
  • Travel via bullet train to Tokyo

Day 9: Tokyo Area

  • Observe the “7-minute miracle” Shinkansen changeover at Tokyo Station
  • Isao Yoshino Lecture  and  discussion
  • Final discussion and wrap-up

Day 10: Study Trip Concludes in Tokyo

Day 11 Independent Tokyo

  • Shibuya Crossing
  • Yomiuri Giants Baseball Game at the Tokyo Dome

Day 12: Independent Tokyo

  • Japan Study Trip N+11: Fish Markets, Sumo, and Sushi
  • Tsukiji Market
  • Yanaka Ginza
  • Gotokuji Temple
  • Sumo Wrestling
  • Sushi Experience

Day 13: Travel Day

  • Japan Study Trip N+12: Ramen, Monorail, Planes, and Goodbyes
  • Ramen
  • Monorail
  • Haneda Observation Deck
  • Flight from Tokyo, Japan to Home
